Kathleen R. Geibel, 83, formerly of East Butler, died Monday at Sunnyview Home.

Born April 21, 1923, in Butler, she was a daughter of Edgar and Edith Eichenlaub Cousins.

She was a homemaker, and during World War II, she was a welder at the Pullman Standard Car Manufacturing Co. She also had worked in the food service department of the Butler Area School District at the Center Avenue Elementary School cafeteria for several years.

Mrs. Geibel was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

She was a former Democratic chairwoman for East Butler for years. She was an active member of the East Butler Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Post 117 in Butler.

Surviving are a son, David L. McBride of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. John (Sandra) Dubyak of Romulus, Mich., and Linda S. Geibel of Slippery Rock; a sister, Dorothy Brown of Butler; three grandchildren, Samuel W. Hicks Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Harrisville, Vincent P. Dubyak and his fiancée, Sarah, of Romulus and Mark C. Dubyak and his wife, Wendy, of Trenton, Mich.; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In 1951, she married Aloysius M. "Curly" Geibel, and he died Feb. 20, 1987. Two brothers and several sisters also preceded her.

<B>GEIBEL </B>— Friends of Kathleen R. Geibel, who died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Harry Bielewicz, her church pastor, officiating.
