Priscilla B. Barath, 87, of Vestaburg died at 11:26 a.m. Friday at the home of her cousin, Marlene West.

Born Feb. 6, 1920, in West Sunbury, she was a daughter of John and Priscilla Haynal Biro.

Mrs. Barath was a member of the former First Baptist Church in Brownsville and was attending the East Beth Baptist Church, where she played the organ for services.

She was a trained beautician, worked in the shirt factory in Brownsville and at one time worked for Moss' Supermarket in Uniontown.

Mrs. Barath served her country during World War II, having worked at Railway Express in Cleveland, Ohio, and as a "Rosie the Riveter" at Pullman-Standard as a welder in Butler.

She enjoyed traveling, was an excellent seamstress and had a great talent for music. Mrs. Barath played the organ, piano and violin, and as a youngster, sang in many groups. She also loved being with her family.

Mrs. Barath is survived by a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Barath in Vestaburg; three grandchildren, Jessica Barath, Rebecca Barath and John Barath, II, all of Vestaburg; and her cousin, Marlene West and her husband, Ralph, of Fox Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her husband John S. Barath, who died May 10, 1956, and her son, John F. "Buzzy" Barath.

Barath, who died Friday, April 13, 2007, will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the <B>GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, </B>42 Bank St., at Crawford Road, Fredericktown.
