RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

The Rev. Paul Willette of the Pittsburgh District Church of the Nazarene, will be the guest speaker at the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68. Chrisann Green will provide music.

There will be no evening service on Sunday.

The Caravan Kids Club will have its first meeting of the season from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The program is open to children ages 5 to 12. For information, call Jim and Chrisann Green at 724-283-8020 or 724-482-4116.

Wednesday Worship for youth and adults will begin at 7 p.m. this Wednesday.

CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

The Purpose Driven Life worship leadership team of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will hold a planning session at 7 p.m. today at the church.

The sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated during this weekend's services.

Registration for the Disciple I class is being held in the narthex. The 34-week Bible study class will begin Sept. 12.

Flour and rice are being collected during September for the Covenant Food Cupboard.

Collection is continuing for the Miles of Pennies mission project at Fellowship United Methodist Church, Ambridge.

Donations are being accepted for the USO "Show the Troops You Care" kits.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

Due to increased attendance, early summer worship services at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., have been extended for the remainder of the year.

Amber Crowe will provide music and Howard Dillaman will provide the offertory for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service.

COMMUNITY ALLIANCE

M.O.M.S., a support group for mothers of Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, will begin Sept. 9. Classes meet from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m.

"If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to get Out of the Boat," is the book that will be studied on Thursdays at 7 p.m. beginning Sept. 9. The group will be in the Conference Room.

Women to Women Bible study will begin Sept. 15. Classes meet from. 9:30 to 11 a.m.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The sacrament of the Lord's supper will be celebrated at the Sunday service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. Beth Reefer and Darla Peterson will be provide music.

Members and friends planning to visit the Villa Maria Community will leave the church at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday.

FAITH FELLOWSHIP

The Kid's Quest program at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The program includes worship, prayer and Bible discovery for children in preschool through fourth grade. Adults and older children will meet in the sanctuary for prayer at this time.

Fall ministry classes will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday. Classes are available for adults, teens, and children in preschool through sixth grade.

A communion and healing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Ladies morning Bible study will resume at 10 a.m. Sept. 9.

A baptism service will be held Sept. 12. For information or to participate, contact one of the church pastors.

FIRST U.M.

A fall kickoff rally for children age 4 through eighth grade will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Sunday in Epworth Center at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St. For information or to assist, contact Michelle Winters at 724-283-6160 extension 233.

GLADE RUN U.P.

The youth group of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will not meet Sunday.

The church office will be closed Monday.

The Chancel Choir will practice at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Beginning Sept. 13, practices will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mondays.

Beginning Sept. 15, the R.O.C.K after-school program will meet after school to 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday. Children in kindergarten through grade 12 are welcome. Anyone planning to help can call 724-898-2473.

HILL U.P.

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated at the 6 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.

There will be no Sunday school classes this week. Classes will resume at 9:15 a.m. Sept. 12. Children ages 3 to 6 should meet on the balcony for opening exercises and music. Childcare is available for children younger than 3.

The adult choir will resume practice at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9. The adult handbell choir will resume practice at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9.

Women's Bible study will resume with a Bible study and picnic at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the home of Susan Thomas, 836 Whitestown Road. Members should take a dish to share.

Kid's Club registrations for the fall session will be accepted beginning Sept. 12. The program will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Oct. 6 through Nov. 17.

Peanut butter and jelly are being collected this month for the Covenant Food Cupboard. Donations can be left in the church narthex.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

The Lord's Supper will be celebrated Sunday at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch School Auditorium, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg.

First Saturday will be held this Saturday at The Bridge, 102 Bay St., Penn Township.

The senior high youth will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the home of Dr. Chris and Nancy Marshall, 125 Keithwood Drive, Valencia.

The church offices will be closed Monday.

The middle school youth will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Jim and Amy Brown, 446 Overbrook Drive, Valencia.

NORTH MAIN ST. CHURCH OF GOD

OAK HILLS CHRISTIAN

The fall worship schedule at Oak Hills Christian Church, at the intersection of Old Plank and Township Line roads, will begin this Sunday. Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. and services will follow at 10:45 a.m.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

An orientation and planning meeting for Sunday school teachers and the staff of Kids' Nite at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

This year's Movie Night will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday.

A four-week Bible study will begin Sept. 9. Sessions will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

PARK U.P.

Sunday School Rally Day will be held at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 12 at Park United Presbyterian Church, 115 E. Grandview Ave, Zelienople. Music will be provided by 7-year-old Seth Landis from the Somerset area.

RIDER LUTHERAN

ST. JOHN'S REFORMED

Beginning Sunday, St. John's Reformed Church, Route 68 and Benbrook Road, will resume its fall schedule. Sunday school will start at 9:45 a.m., and services at 11 a.m.

ST. JOHN U.C.C.

Summer Sunday school students will present a special program during the 10 a.m. Sunday service at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.

The fall schedule, with services beginning at 11 a.m., will resume Sept. 12.

The adult choir and bell choir will resume practice on Wednesday.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

The Saturday evening service at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will be held at 6:30 p.m. this week due to multiple weddings.

The fall worship schedule will resume this week. Services will be held at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sundays, and Sunday school will begin at 9:45 a.m.

Communion will be served during the services this weekend.

The monthly blood pressure screening has been changed to Sept. 11 and 12. Screening will be held at the Birch Street entrance before the Saturday service Sept. 11 and downstairs from 9:30 to 9:45 a.m. Sept. 12.

The adult class will resume meeting from 9:55 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Sept. 12 in the conference room.

ST. RICHARD R.C.

POLO of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, will hold its first fall meeting at 9 p.m. Sept. 8.

Forever Young will hold its first fall meeting at noon Sept. 9 in the social hall.

The youth will visit Timpani Nursing Home from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9.

The ladies group will hold a Day of Reflection from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Charity Room.

SLIPPERY ROCK U.M.

The fall schedule at Slippery Rock United Methodist, Franklin and Maple streets, will resume this week. The contemporary service will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the traditional service will begin at 11 a.m. Junior church for elementary school students will be held during both services.

Larry Homisky from the conference center will meet with the congregation on Sept. 9 to discuss new ways to welcome members and promote evangelism in the community.

The praise café will open for the new semester at 8 p.m. Sept. 10. The café is open for college students and young adults.

A free concert featuring the gospel/rock band "Heavenbound" will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 in front of the church.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Communion will be served at the 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday services at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive.

The annual Labor Day corn roast will begin at 5 p.m. Monday in the church picnic shelter.

TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave. The Sunday service will also feature Carol Rose and Ted Burns, who will speak about their mission trip to Honduras.

Old "TV Guide" books are needed for Sunday school projects. Books can be left in the church office.

The fellowship group will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Eppinger's Restaurant in Portersville. Participants should sign up in the narthex.

A dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday for members who wish to join the music ministry.

Pint and jelly jars are needed for the apple butter that will be made during the fall festival. Donated jars can be left in the church office.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

Baptism will be celebrated at the Sunday service at Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia.
