Everett Cunningham

Everett Reid "Slim" Cunningham, 66, of Evans City passed away Tuesday evening at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born in Bellevue, Aug. 13, 1942, he was the son of Samuel and Mabel Harbison Cunningham.

Slim was a member of the Oak Grove Lutheran Church in Zelienople.

He had retired from the Herman Corp., Zelienople, as a welder.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Slim was a life member of the Evans City Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a past president. He had a life of service to the Big Butler Fair. He was a past president of the Butler County United Labor Council AFL-CIO.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Surviving are his wife, Velma J. "Sis" Hughes Cunningham, who he married Sept 24, 1960; three daughters, Pamela (Gary) Steeb of Cranberry Township, Lorraine (Timothy) Koscinski of Alliance, Ohio, and Melissa Painter of Sewickley; a son, Michael Cunningham of Pittsburgh; a sister, Delores (Mike) Patterson of Reno, Nev.; two brothers, Charles (Roberta) Cunningham of Petrolia and Samuel (Beverly) Cunningham of Chicora; and four grandchildren, Craig, Carley and Chloe Steeb and Hanna Koscinski.

<B>CUNNINGHAM</B> — Friends and relatives of Everett R. "Slim" Cunningham, who died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home</B>, 328 W. Main St., Evans City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Connie Dunn, pastor for VNA Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in the Butler County Memorial Park.The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Evans City Fire Department, 124 N.
