One taken to hospital after rear-ender on Perry Highway
MUDDY CREEK TWP -- One person was taken to UPMC Passavant in Cranberry Township for evaluation after a rear-ender motor vehicle accident in Muddy Creek Township on Sunday night.
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. just outside the entrance to a Dollar General store on Perry Highway, and involved a Chevrolet Equinox SUV and a Chevrolet pickup. The impact left debris on both shoulders of the road.
Between the two vehicles there were three occupants -- one occupant in the pickup and two in the SUV. According to scanner reports, at least one person complained of chest pains shortly after the incident.
The other two people involved in the accident reported no injuries and refused transport.
“Both vehicles were traveling northbound on Route 19,” said Tim Saunders of the Portersville/Muddy Creek Township Fire Department. “It was basically a rear-end collision.”
Units from the Portersville/Muddy Creek Township Fire Department and EMS arrived on the scene, along with Slippery Rock EMS.
