'That car just fits me like a glove'
Dave Snyder of Karns City was sad to see his 1993 Honda Accord take its last sputtering, fuel-injected breaths in 2004.
"That one did not last too long. Not after my kids got ahold of it," Snyder said.
But rather than part with the car, he kept it for parts and bought a 1992 Honda Accord with 120,000 miles for just $1,000.
"It's been very dependable and that car just fits me like a glove," Snyder said.
"I had to change the rotors on this car; that's the biggest job I've had."
He also has pulled at least one headlight and the exhaust from his 1993 Accord to use on the 1992, but the engine and transmission remain reliable.
"It drives so easy, I some times don't even need to use the clutch anymore," Snyder said.
And he gets plenty of practice.
Snyder takes the 1992 Accord 70 miles round-trip to work every day and still gets up to 30 miles per gallon of gas.
