Cooley

Kenneth Lindsay Cooley, 87, of Ellicott City, Md., passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, while under the care of Howard County General Hospital.

Born May 8, 1936, in Fairchance, Pa., he was the son of the late Lindsay F. and Elizabeth Lewis Cooley.

Ken was a lifetime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 2249 in Cranberry Township. He was an avid golfer and loved playing cards, especially euchre. He loved Pittsburgh sports teams and country music. He was the owner of Cooley Wallpapering for almost 30 years and worked with his daughter, Barbara. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Barbara Lee (Gerald) Moore and Kenneth L. (Mary) Cooley; his sister, Lois June Irvine; his grandchildren, Lindsay (Kevin) Hill, Anthony (Arlene) Moore, Nathan (Emma) Schirra, Rachel (Nathan) Tonkin, Emma Cooley and Sean Cooley; and his son-in-law, Vincent Schirra.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Hoover Cooley, who passed away on Feb. 17, 2018; and his daughter, Lois Jean Cooley Schirra, who passed away on July 23, 2016.

COOLEY — A gathering of family and friends of Kenneth Lindsay Cooley, who died Saturday, July 22, 2023, will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2023, at BOYLAN-GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at the funeral home.
