David Harry Lindey, 81, of Dothan, Ala., formerly of North Road, died Friday evening at the Flowers Hospital in Dothan.

Born May 9, 1925, in Slippery Rock, he was the son of Joseph and Ethel Wall Lindey.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Prospect.

Mr. Lindey and his brother, Walter, operated a construction business. Later in life, he lived on and worked the family farm on North Road.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Shook Lindey, of Wesley Manor in Dothan, whom he married Jan. 3, 1947; three sons, David Lindey of Dothan and Dennis and Douglas Lindey, both of North Road; a daughter, Lisa Lindey Kolb of Colorado; and five grandchildren, Shawn Lindey of California, Katrina Lindey Schuman of Georgia, Corrie Lindey Nye and Caleb Lindey, both of Pennsylvania and Joshua Kolb of Colorado. Two brothers, Walter Lindey of Slippery Rock and William Lindey of Grove City, also survive.

He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
