Nancy J. Smith, 85, of Butler died Friday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Oct. 11, 1925, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ernestine (Pappalard) Orlando.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, was a homemaker, and had volunteered at Butler Memorial Hospital for more than 30 years.

Surviving are her son, Gary E. Smith of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Mrs. Marly Hartle and Mrs. Howard (Millie) Kradel, both of Butler; one granddaughter, Mrs. Stacie Tucker of Butler; two great- granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Smith, who died Dec. 19, 1989; four brothers; and two sisters.

<B>SMITH</B> — There will be no visitation for Nancy J. Smith, who died Friday, July 1, 2011. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Mausoleum Chapel of Calvary Cemetery in Butler.
