The Butler After Five women's club will host a dinner and program at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Butler YWCA, 120 W. Cunningham St.

Speakers will include Sherry Eismann, owner of The Red Squirrel collectibles shop. Lorraine Serra will speak on the topic "From a Hard Day's Night to a New Beginning."

Discovery program focuses on birds

The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will host a program on wild bird recovery at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Carousel Shelter at Alameda Park.

The event is part of the department's series of outdoor discovery programs.
