Monday - William Smith said someone between 4 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday took the Pennsylvania license plate YGM0392 off a pickup truck at his North Main Street home.7:44 p.m. Saturday - Two people were seriously injured when their motorcycle crashed on West New Castle Street.Jack Hinton, 49, and Mary Lou Hinton, 49, both of Clearfield Township were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital following the crash. Their conditions were not known this morning. Neither was wearing a helmet.Police said the crash occurred when a car driven by Audrey Nossokoff, 74, of Butler Township turned in front of the motorcycle that Jack Hinton was driving and Mary Lou Hinton was riding. The couple was injured when the motorcycle crashed onto the road. Nossokoff was cited for a left-turn violation.3:30 p.m. Saturday - Richard Spinneweber, 25, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend's 13-year-old son at their West Wayne Street apartment. Spinneweber is charged with simple assault and harassment.

10:08 p.m. Monday - Randy Protzman, 42, of Butler was seriously injured when his motorcycle struck a deer on Keck Road in Summit Township.Protzman, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown 15 feet over the handle bars before landing on the road. He was flown by medical helicopter with head and chest injuries to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. His condition was not known this morning.6:35 p.m. Monday - Francis Coy, 44, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting Cathy Worgon, 48, of Butler during a domestic dispute at the couple's Merry Lane home in Center Township. Coy was arraigned on simple assault and harassment charges, and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $3,000 bond.5:15 p.m. Monday - Cars driven by a 17-year-old Chicora girl, whom police did not identify, and Carrie Young, 34, of Chicora collided at Route 68 and Shearer Road in Oakland Township.Monday - Peanut butter was smeared inside and expletives spray-painted outside an Oakland Township home burglarized between July 26 and Sunday.About $875 in undisclosed property was also taken in the break-in at the Boydstown Road home of Alan Ankrom in Oakland Township.Police said that in addition to coating the house with peanut butter and painted curse words, the burglar or burglars also urinated inside the home.12:30 a.m. Friday - Jeremy Lynch, 23, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car struck an embankment and overturned on Route 3908 near Holyoke Road in Center Township. Lynch, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.

2:09 a.m. July 30 - A trio of Pittsburgh teenagers may face theft-related charges after police pulled their vehicle over on Hazel Street after a borough resident reported three teen-agers trying to break into his vehicle. Police arrested Lawrence Adam Hite, 18, of Pittsburgh and two juvenile males ages 14 and 17, also of Pittsburgh, after police found several items in the vehicle that could not be accounted for by the teens. Upon searching the vehicle, police found a black wallet, small tool bag and a compact disc wallet in the interior of the car. A subsequent search of the vehicle's trunk yielded an air compressor and a saw.
