An Oct. 1 wedding is being planned by Antoinette Unger of Mars and SPC John Ward of Butler.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Edward and Kathleen Unger of Mars. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Robert and Deborah Ward of Butler.

The bride-elect graduated in 2001 from Mars High School, in 2003 from Butler County Community College with an associate's degree and in 2004 from the Allegheny County Police Academy in the North Hills. She works for IPC Security in Ross Park Mall.

Her fiancé graduated in 2001 from Butler High School and attended Butler County Community College. He is serving in the U.S. Army Reserves, stationed in Baghdad, Iraq.
