Butler Township is having an event for National Night Out on Aug. 1, so community members can meet officers from the Butler Township Police Department, members of the Butler Township Fire District and the Butler Township Board of Commissioners.

The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 1 at Bocce and Vista drives, where roads will be closed so people can meet with Butler Township personnel.

National Night Out is a community police awareness-raising event on the first Tuesday of August, for which municipalities across the nation schedule their own events.

This is the ninth year Butler Township will be participating in National Night Out, according to a news release from the township.
