D. Mercer Douthett
Delorma Mercer "Bud" Douthett, 84, of Zelienople went to be with the Lord on Friday at the Presbyterian Hospital of Allen in Allen, Texas.
Born Nov. 21, 1923, in Connoquenessing, he was the son of William G. and Helen V. Stoner Douthett.
Bud was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and served in the China-Burma-India theater from 1942 to 1944.
He was a member of the Grace Church of Harmony, where he served on the consistory and taught junior age Sunday school.
Mr. Douthett retired in 1983 as vice president and general manager of Halstead Industries after 33 years.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Mae Gerwig Douthett, whom he married June 10, 1944; four daughters, Bonlee Rawley and her husband, John, of Princeton, Texas, Kathy Shear and her husband, Mark, of Apex, N.C., Jill Rucker and her husband, Craig, of Bloomington, Calif., and Wendy Kenny and her husband, Ruben Chavez, of Cleburne, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two brothers; and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
