The Lutheran Service Society Senior Centers Program is now seeking volunteers for its 19th annual Gift of Love project.

The program provides a holiday visit to homebound elderly citizens in Butler County. Visits will be held Dec. 14 and 15.

To volunteer or to nominate a resident to receive a visit, contact Sue Weaver or Maureen Huff at 724-283-9002.

PETROLIA — A free clothing giveaway will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Petrolia Fire Department Social Hall, 210 Argyle St.The kitchen will be open during the event and lunch specials will be available for purchase.Participants should take their own bags.

CENTER TWP — Hank LeGrand III of Renfrew will have a signing Saturday for his new book, "Paddle Tail's First Winter Adventure."The children's book is the second in a series about a beaver.The signing will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the children's department at Boscov's department store at Clearview Mall. Copies of the book, which costs $7.95 plus tax, will be available.

HARMONY — The Seneca Valley Middle School bands will perform a winter concert at 7:30 p.m. today at the intermediate high school auditorium.Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for students.

CONNOQUENESSING TWP — APet Photos with Santa event will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Brenckle's Farm and Greenhouse, Route 68.Proceeds from photos will benefit Animal Rescue. The event is hosted by the Golden Triangle Irish Club.Call 724-445-3179.

SAXONBURG — Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company will host a Christmas auction at 1 p.m. Sunday in the company's ballroom, Pittsburgh Street.Vocalists to perform at holiday concertButler Intermediate High School vocal music department will present a holiday concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Intermediate High School Auditorium.The concert will include performances by the Mixed Chorus, Girls' Ensemble and Mixed Ensemble.Admission is free.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Students at Slippery Rock University will host a Christmas party for Butler County's Special Olympics athletes from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the East Gym on the university campus, at the corner of Route 173 and Keister Road.The event will include dancing, refreshments and a visitor from the North Pole.Notices, in writing, of festivals, fundraising events, newly elected officers and other news from clubs and nonprofit groups should be sent to the Focus department one week in advance of the event. Items should include the name and phone number of the person providing the information and be sent to Focus, Butler Eagle, P.O. Box 271, Butler, PA 16003.
