Dorothy Mercatell

Dorothy Mercatell of Butler celebrated her 90th birthday with a family dinner at Natili’s Restaurant.

The former Dorothy Heichel was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Butler. She married the late James Mercatell on Oct. 4, 1941, in Cumberland, Md.

She has eight children, Kathy Moore of Chicora, Mike Mercatell of Sebastian, Fla., Linda Hinchberger and Joyce Thomas, both of Butler, and Jim Mercatell and Netty Clinton, both of Cabot. Her daughter, Carol Chestnut, and son, Joe Mercatell, have passed away.

She also has 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Butler.
