Carol J. Lichanec

Carol J. Lichanec, 72, of Clearfield Road, Fenelton, died Wednesday afternoon at Butler Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with an extended illness.

Mrs. Lichanec was born in West Winfield, Aug. 23, 1938. She was the daughter of Richard and Jena Ekas Keasey.

She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville.

She retired in 1994 from the Moonlight Mushroom Mine.

She enjoyed shopping, ceramics and the company of her puppies, Ivan and Smokey. Carol was an avid Steelers fan.

She was married Sept. 9, 1955, at the St. John Church in Coylesville to Paul J. Lichanec, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Paula J. Johnson and her husband, Chuck, of Fenelton and Pamela S. Kiser and her husband, Tim, of Karns City; three grandchildren, Chrichele Griffiths and Derek Griffiths, both of Karns City, and Dalton Johnson of Fenelton; five step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Wetzel and Lou Rita Cassioli; and two brothers, Ronald “Tad” Keasey and Duane “Pat” Keasey.

Hile Funeral Home
