Fred 'Fritz' Rothen
Fred T. “Fritz” Rothen, 60, of Sarver passed away Monday at his home.
Born July 22, 1951, in Natrona Heights, he was the son of Carl F. Rothen and Katherine A. Perine.
Fritz had worked as a salesperson for Koppel Steel in Ambridge.
He graduated in 1969 from Knoch High School, where he was the first member of the 1,000 points club in basketball. He also was on the basketball team for Westminster College, where he graduated in 1973.
He served on the board of trustees at the Presbyterian Church in Bessemer, where he had taught Sunday school.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially bow hunting.
Surviving are his wife, Lora Cooper Rothen, who he married April 19, 2011; a brother, Bob (Elaine) Rothen of Ridge Manor, Fla.; a son, Fritz Rothen of Sarasota, Fla.; and a daughter, Katie Rothen of Sarasota, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl Rothen.
