Thomas V. Brown
Thomas V. Brown, 87, of Renfrew, formerly of Slippery Rock, died Tuesday at his home.
Born Feb. 25, 1919, in Cranberry Township, he was the son of Harry V. and Clara Lawall Brown.
Mr. Brown was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a charter member of the VFW Post 499 of Evans City.
He retired from LTV Steel after more than 20 years. He enjoyed farming.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy McConnell Brown; five sons, Thomas B. "Tim" Brown of Huron, S.D., Chester W. "Skip" Brown and his wife, Sandie, of Zelienople, Jeffrey L. Brown and his wife, Joy, of Myoma, Tod A. Brown and his wife, Rayann, of Reno, Nev., and Tracy V. Brown of Fort Myers, Fla.; two daughters, Diana G. Zoelle of Bloomsburg and Barbara K. Long and her husband, Roy, of Renfrew; a brother, James Brown of Montana; and a brother-in-law, Ed Dressler of Cranberry Township.
Also surviving are his oldest grandson, Roy V. Brown of Forward Township and many additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Nightwine Brown, who died Sept. 4, 1960; three brothers, Robert, Chester L. and Raymond Brown, and a sister, Ethel Dressler.
