BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE
The youth group of Butler Church of The Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will host an international stockholders' breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at the church. Breakfast will be provided in appreciation of those who support the youth program.
Children attending the Caravan overnight lock-in at 6 p.m. Friday should take a sleeping bag and pillow. Pizza, milkshakes and breakfast will be provided. Participants should eat dinner before the event. An offering of $2 for each child is requested and permission slips are required. Parents should pick up their children by 9 a.m. Saturday.
Workers in the children's department will have a meeting at 5 p.m. Sunday at the church.
The film, "Home Beyond the Sun," will be shown at 6 p.m. Sunday. Finger-food fellowship will follow. An offering will be received.
CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.
The 40 Days of Purpose spiritual campaign at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will kick off Saturday with an Oktoberfest celebration. A worship service will be held at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary. Tim Kutch, a nationally-known magician will perform. German food and a special children's menu will be served in Oz Hall. Numerous children's activities will be available. The book "The Purpose Drive Live," which will be used during the six-week program, will be available for purchase. Small study group registration also will be held. The evening will conclude with a vespers service at 6:30 p.m. on the church lawn.
During the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign, a special prayer tent will be available 15 minutes prior to each worship service and Sunday school for prayer and meditation.
A luncheon for members recently received into the congregation and their sponsors will follow the 11 a.m. Sunday service.
Fifth and sixth graders are invited to attend the Unleavened Bread People group, which meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The junior high Dry Bone Posse will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Chwalik home. The senior high group will meet at the Hiser home.
Members of the church will provide baked goods for Meals on Wheels during October. Baked good should be brought to the church Mondays beginning Oct. 11.
Volunteers are needed to provide child care for the Moms and Tots group, which meets at 9:30 a.m. bimonthly on Thursdays.
CHRIST'S OUTREACH
Beth and Lyric Ackleson and Jenny Taylor will provide music at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.
The Wednesday evening adult Bible study will host a fellowship meal at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. Cost is a donation. The study will begin at 7 p.m.
A part-time clerk/receptionist is needed for Mondays through Wednesdays at the church. The position involves eight to 12 work hours a week. For information, call 724-283-8407.

Dr. Victor Adebimpe will be the speaker at the Seekers Class at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the Assembly Room.

New Castle St., will be among churches participating in a men's retreat from 6 p.m. Friday to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock. Les Ollila, chancellor of Northland Baptist Bible College, Dunbar, Wis., will be the featured speaker.
Ollila also will be the guest speaker at the Sunday services at the church.
A family breakfast for the Kingdom Seekers Sunday school class and their families will be held at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the church social room.

The Seeds of Hope Addiction Ministry of First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., will host a dinner at 6 p.m. today in Epworth Center. A meeting will follow at 7 p.m.
