Charles D. Foringer
Charles D. "Chad" Foringer, 58, of Butler died Saturday morning while visiting his son in Savannah, Ga.
Born April 24, 1947, in Butler, he was the son of Harold F. and Romaine Paul Foringer.
He had been a marketing representative for T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil Company, retiring in January 2002 due to disability.
A 1966 graduate of Butler High School, he attended Kent State University before serving as a convoy commander in the Army.
Mr. Foringer served in the Vietnam War, receiving the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal and a certificate of appreciation.
He graduated from Butler County Community College with a degree in architectural drafting technology.
He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Community Development Corporation of Butler County, Downtown Business Association, Butler County Chamber of Commerce and Butler's Shade Tree Commission.
Mr. Foringer married Patricia McIntyre on July 13, 1974, who survives.
He also is survived by three sons, Jason "Jay" Foringer and his wife, Trena, of Akron, Ohio; Matthew Foringer of Houston, Texas, and of Savannah, Ga.; and Christopher Foringer, a member of the Army 82nd Airborne stationed in Fort Bragg, N.C.
Also surviving are a granddaughter, Julia Madalyn Foringer; his mother-in-law, Eileen McIntyre; two brothers, Harold F. "Tad" Foringer Jr. of Hampton, Va., and B. Scott Foringer of Philadelphia; four sisters, Mrs. Richard T. (Barbara) Johnson of Fayetteville, N.Y., Mrs. Dale (Thelma) Ross of Upland, Calif., Mrs. Bruce E. (Lisa) Sten of Prospect and Mrs. Mindy Gall of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
FORINGER - Friends of Charles D. "Chad" Foringer, who died Saturday, June 11, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. James Swanson of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at North Side Cemetery.Graveside military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 249, Butler.The family requests memorial donations be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001.
