Cogley

Irene B. (George) Cogley, 81, of Butler passed away Tuesday at her home.

Born Oct. 6, 1927, in Cramer, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Catherine (Pavlik) George.

She was employed by G.C. Murphy's on Main Street in Butler, was the former owner of the Stagecoach Restaurant in Saxonburg with her husband, John, and also a homemaker.

She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, casino gambling, yardwork and playing with her dog, Cuddles.

Mrs. Cogley was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

She is survived by two daughters, Paulette S. Smith and Mrs. Charles (Linda) Savannah, both of Butler; two sons, John R. Cogley of Youngstown, Ohio, and David B. Cogley of Ashburn, Va.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Cogley, who she married, Aug. 28, 1946, and who died April 28, 2006; her son, Robert E. Cogley; and also by five brothers and sisters.
