R. Fred Seigworth, 77, of Zelienople lost his battle with lung disease Sunday at UPMC Passavant Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Oct. 30, 1934, in Strattanville, Clarion County, a son of the late Clem and Besse (Shaffer) Seigworth

He started working at a young age as a truck mechanic and retired as the proud owner of Petroleum Equipment Services Inc. with more than 50 employees under his leadership as corporate president.

Fred was a member of the Dutilh United Methodist Church.

Among the hobbies he enjoyed were cooking, gardening, reading and following the stock market.

He was married for 47 wonderful years and is survived by his loving wife, Brenda J. (Daugherty) Seigworth. He also is survived by his daughter, Tracy D. Kosis and son-in-law, Edward J. Kosis III and two grandchildren, Garrett T. Kosis and Savannah R. Kosis of Clinton. He was the loving brother of Patricia Rhodes, Marilyn Fox, Linda (Fred) Heasley and Thomas (Ella May).

He was preceded in death by brothers, Harold Lloyd, William and Ronald; and a son, Steven R Seigworth.

He will be sadly missed by friends, family and business colleagues.

SEIGWORTH — Visitation for R. Fred Seigworth, who died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at

Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E Grandview Ave., Zelienople. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Dutilh United Methodist Church, 1270 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Dutilh United Methodist Church Steeple Fund.Online condolences and directions are available at www.boylanfuneralhome.com.
