James F. Robeson
James Frank Robeson, 82, of Saxonburg passed away Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice
Born Oct. 28, 1928, in Steuben-ville, Ohio, he was adopted by his aunt and uncle, Thane and Bessie (Rohm) Robeson, after his parents were killed in a streetcar accident.
Frank was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a crane operator for PPG, a coal miner, and a driver for Carnegie Mellon physicists.
After his retirement from the coal mine, he worked part time at II-VI, Inc. and at Friedman's grocery store.
Frank was a member of the United Mine Workers Union, the Saxonburg VFW, and was a volunteer firefighter for Saxonburg.
He enjoyed dancing, jokes, music and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Brony (Danielak) Robeson; his two sons, Ken (Diana Mary) Robeson of Sarver and Jim (Marianne) Robeson of Maryland; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
<B>ROBESON</B> — Friends of James Frank Robeson, who died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger D. Nuerge officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053 or to a charity of one's choice.
