Alice Feder Kusmierek, 57, of Peotone, Ill., died Sunday of breast caner at the Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, Ill.

Dr. Kusmierek was the supervisor of the family enrichment program for the ECHO Joint Agreement in South Holland, Ill., and a leader in the development of curriculum programming for children in the state of Illinois. The results of her work and creativity are being used around the world in the area of child development.

Born March 21, 1950, in Butler, she was the daughter of Catherine Feder and the late Wallace Feder.

A 1968 graduate of Butler High School, she received degrees from Grove City College and Edinboro University and her doctorate from Kent State University.

Surviving are her husband, James; daughters, Lindsay and Jenna; her mother of Butler; a brother, Harold Feder and his wife, June, of Butler; three sisters. Cathleen Feder Perr of Florida, Ellen Kime of Montana and Lisabeth Gerdom and her husband, Martin, of California; six nephews, and three nieces.

<B>KUSMIEREK </B>— Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service for Alice Feder Kusmierek, who died Sunday, March 25, 2007, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Holy Family, Park Forest, Ill. Visitation with the family and a luncheon will follow.Memorials may be made to breast cancer research.
