Mary E. Drake
Mary E. Drake, 88, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, died Friday at Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community in Cranberry Township.
She was born April 21, 1921, in Mount Lebanon, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Mary B. Driscoll Campbell.
She was a member of the Mount Lebanon United Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the choir and the 79ers Sunday School Class, worked in the kitchen and had been president of the Kings Daughters group.
She was an active volunteer as a Girl Scout leader, member of the Howe School PTA, the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary as a staff member of the Trading Post and as a member and officer of the Daughters of the Nile.
She insisted that her family live in Mount Lebanon because of the area's fine school system. She enjoyed traveling in Europe with her husband following retirement.
Surviving are her husband, Hobart H. Drake Jr., who she married Dec. 22, 1945; two daughters, Mary Sue (Charles) Murphy of Strongsville, Ohio, and Peggy Drake of Highland Park, Pittsburgh; one brother, Joseph A. Campbell Jr. of Holland, Ohio; two sisters, E. Louise O'Donnell of McLean, Va., and Ruth Olsen of Alexandria, Va.; two grandchildren, Charles A. Murphy and Monica Sorrell and five great-grandchildren, Ashley Murphy, Stephanie Murphy, Mark Auliff, Amber Sorrell and Nathan Sorrell.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Clare O'Donnell.

Drake who died Friday, May 29, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation services</B>, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. June 13 at Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community Auditorium, 100 Norman Drive, Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Linda Pokrajac officiating.
