Clyde H. Grove, 84, of Mars died Thursday afternoon at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born in Williamsburg, Pa., on Sept. 12, 1926, he was the son of the late Henry and Nancy Thompson Grove.

Clyde was a sales manager for Sealtest in Altoona and Milk, Inc. and Taylor Dairy in Pittsburgh.

He was a member of the Bakerstown Alliance Church, and the Mars AARP. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Mars Rod and Gun Club.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, J. Darleen Grove, who he married on Aug. 15, 1953; two sons, Kevin Grove and his wife, Sonja, in Maryland, and Kent Grove of Hawley; his grandchildren, Matthew (Kristen), Benjamin and David Grove; his great-grandson, Connor Grove; and two sisters, Chloe Brooks (Max) of Huntingdon, and Lillian Keith of Lewistown.

He was preceded in death by a brother, George Grove, and six sisters, Grace Hinish, Minnie McKinney, Hazel McKinney, Esther Secrest, Elsie Lang and Lena McCall.

<B>GROVE —</B> Friends of Clyde H. Grove, who died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, are invited to a memorial service 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bakerstown Alliance Church, 4030 Bakerstown Road, Gibsonia. The Rev. Vernon Borchert, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Washington County.Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the American Cancer Society.Arrangements are under the direction of the<B> MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME</B>, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars.
