Orabona

Regina Lee Tiche Orabona, 52, known professionally as Regina "Jeanne" Styles, of 572 Slippery Rock Road, Slippery Rock, died at 10:55 p.m. Thursday at UPMC Pittsburgh after an extended illness.

Born Sept. 17, 1955, in Grove City, she was the daughter of Eugene V. Tiche and Nancy L. Edwards Tiche.

She was raised in Montclair, Calif., and graduated from Montclair High School in 1973.

Mrs. Orabona was a Protestant.

She was a professional singer and songwriter and was blessed with a beautiful voice. She derived such joy in sharing her music with others. She and her husband, Kenny, who she married July 15, 1972, had a band called the "LA Bop Band" and were known in the Los Angeles area during the 1970s performing various genres including disco, jazz, rock 'n' roll and country. They recorded for MCA Records, Mercury Photogram and Electra Records. She was always the star of the show and the main attraction and was not only a great singer, but also a great entertainer and dancer.

Surviving are her husband, Kenny Styles Orabona of Claremont, Calif.; one son, Jullian Styles Orabona of Claremont; two sisters, Mary Sue Tiche of Mercer and Trudy Cunningham of Big Bear, Calif.; and her mother, Nancy L. Edwards Tiche of Slippery Rock.

She was preceded in death by her father and infant brother, Dewey Eugene Tiche.

<B>ORABONA</B> — Friends of Regina Lee Tiche Orabona, who died Thursday, April 17, 2008, will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, PA.There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenton Shaw officiating.
