Gracie

William B. “Bill” Gracie, 81, of Mars passed away Saturday afternoon, June 24, 2023, at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Pittsburgh, on Dec. 8, 1941, he was the son of the late Francis B. and Katherine Hoeltzman Gracie.

Bill was a truck driver for Vogel Disposal.

He was a member of Old Union Presbyterian Church and was a member and past Master of John E. Mair Lodge 729, F. & A. M.

In 1969, he bought a cottage at Henry's Bend near Oil City as a catalyst for keeping family together. He loved spending time on the river and riding his Harley-Davidson.

Bill was a social member of the Mars VFW, a member of the PNA-Polish National Association. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and NASCAR and belonged to the Fryburg Sportsman's Club.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Gracie-King (Matt) of Cranberry Township; a son, Scott B. Gracie (Megan) of Penn Township; his grandchildren, Morgan Pyer and Hayden, Landen and Parker Gracie; and sister, Esther Jean Koetke (Richard) of New Castle; and his grandpuppy, “Puppy.”

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary C. Miller Gracie, whom he married on Jan. 21, 1964, and who died on Feb. 9, 2016.

GRACIE — Friends of William B. “Bill” Gracie, who died Saturday, June 24, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars with the Rev. Dr. Peter deVries, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Old Union Church Cemetery.

Memorials in his memory may be made to Old Union Church. Members of John E. Mair Lodge 729 F. & A.M. will conduct Masonic services on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
