Dennis L. Nebel, 64, of Butler died early Sunday at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born Sept. 5, 1942, in Butler, he was the son of the late Alfred J. and Mary Huselton Nebel.

Mr. Nebel was a 1960 graduate of Butler Area Senior High School.

He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Magnetics in East Butler for 35 years until his retirement in 2004.

He was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center. He was also a member of the East Butler Volunteer Fireman's Club.

He was a veteran of the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War.

His wife, Mary J. O'Donnell Nebel, whom he married September 24, 1966, survives him.

Also surviving is a son, Keith J. Nebel of Fenelton; a daughter, Mrs. James (Kathy) Steighner of Butler; three sisters, Mrs. Ronald (Helen "Sue") Fogel of Destin, Fla., and Mrs. David (Gladys) Leech and Mrs. Robert (Alice) Christy both of Butler; two grandchildren, Karlie E. and Marshall L. Steighner, both of Butler.

He is also survived by his beloved "Granddog," Roxy.

His brother, Alfred F. Nebel, preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 2005.

<B>NEBEL</B> — Friends of Dennis L. Nebel, who died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday from St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center with the Rev. Kevin McKnight officiating.Burial will follow in St. Wendelin's Cemetery.
