Symphony wraps season
The Butler County Symphony Orchestra wraps up its 2014-15 season Saturday with a “Celebrate Butler County” concert featuring pianist Nanette Kaplan Solomon, the Slippery Rock University Concert Choir, and the Collegiate Young Artist Competition winnerSarah Hetrick.
The concert will beginat 7:30 p.m. in the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium.
The Butler County Young Musicians of Note also will be recognized.

Cranfest set for Saturday
CRANBERRY TWP — Cranfest, combining a look at the services offered by the township and a brand-new folk and food festival, is planned for noon to 5 p.m. Saturdayat the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road. Art Center offers classes
The Art Center will have classes featuring a workshop with Tom Sheehan; the “Art” of the Fountain Pen; graphite, charcoal drawing and oil pastels with Amanda Lynne; pottery with Sarah Irion; and walk-in classes Saturday mornings.
The Spring Art Show is scheduled April 22 to May 22. A reception and awards ceremony will be from 7 to 9 p.m. April 24.
The Art Center, 344 S. Main St., is open noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Star parties scheduled
FRAZER TWP, Allegheny County — April star parties sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh are scheduled at 8:10 p.m. April 24 and 25 at Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park near Russellton.

Children’s fest coming in May
PITTSBURGH — The 29th annual EQT Children’s Theater Festival will be held May 14 to 17 throughout the Cultural District.
The festival features ticketed performances, free outdoor arts, music and installations, and free hands-on activities.
