William K. Nelson, 75, of Zelienople, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, while under the care of Lowrie Place in Butler.

Born Feb. 6, 1948, in Harmony, he was the son of the late William E. Nelson and Faye Miller Eppinger.

Bill was a 1966 graduate of Seneca Valley High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially in Canada. He also enjoyed cutting the grass. He enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Above all, Bill was a loving father, grandfather and brother, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, William P. “Bud” Nelson, of Harmony, Larry E. Nelson, of Harmony, and Dahn Kilroy (Michael), of Butler; his grandchildren, Emma Kilroy and Fiona Groom; his brothers, Ronald Nelson (Debbie), of Portersville, Thomas Nelson (Amy), of Evans City, Larry Nelson (Faye Dawn), of Ellwood City, Norman Nelson (Tammy), of Evans City, and Randy Nelson (Valerie), of Freedom; his sister-in-law, Patricia Schaefer (Chris Heberling), of Verona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Nelson, who passed away in 2004.

NELSON — Friends of William K. Nelson, who died June 22, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.

Bill will be laid to rest with military honors at St. Gregory Cemetery in Zelienople.

Donations may be made in Bill’s honor to the VA Butler Healthcare System, Voluntary Services Program, 353 N. Duffy Road, Butler, PA 16001.
