Waldron

Catherine “Cathy” Mae Waldron, 74, of Slippery Rock, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital.

Born on April 30, 1949, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and the late Lois Patton.

Catherine, fondly known as Cathy to her family and friends, was a proud and dedicated registered nurse who spent her career in health care. After graduating from Butler High School in 1968, she went on to earn her LPN, RN and associate degree from Allegheny County and Butler Community College. She retired from Kane in 2012 after many years of devoted service.

Cathy was a vivacious woman who enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Butler. Cathy proudly served her country in the Army and touched countless lives with her compassionate and caring nature.

She is survived by her loving second husband and long-term caregiver, Dave Mitchell; as well as her son, Christopher Waldron; her brother, Douglas Patton; her brother, Arthur Patton; and her sister, Phyllis Statzer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Patton.

WALDRON — Family and friends of Catherine “Cathy” Mae Waldron, who died Thursday, June 22, 2023, are invited to a visitation from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North Street, Butler.

A memorial service will immediately follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Dave Maitland of First Baptist Church in Butler officiating.
