Nicholas L. Alwine Jr., 78, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023.

He was born in Butler on May 9, 1945, to the late Nicholas Sr. and Allene (Wadding) Alwine.

Nicholas served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. After serving he worked at Pullman until it closed. He was known for being a talented woodcrafter, his love of the outdoors and gardening. He was loved and will be forever missed.

Nicholas was the brother of Joyce Kirkwood. He also is survived by a large and loving family.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Janet Earnest, Richard Alwine and Allen Alwine; and his girlfriend, Cathleen Smith.

ALWINE — Family and friends of Nicholas L. Alwine Jr., who died Thursday, June 22, 2023, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A service will follow immediately in the funeral home.
