Paul Steighner
Paul L. Steighner, 91, of Saxonburg, passed away on June 22, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
Born on Dec. 9, 1931, in Butler, he was the son of the late Leonard Steighner and the late Marie Raybuck Steighner.
Paul was married to his loving wife of 70 years, Dorothy Steighner. He was a dedicated father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially hunting with his sons and grandsons.
Paul was a Korean War veteran, having proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a manager in the banking industry, with experience at Community Finance in Butler and retiring from PNC Bank.
His involvement in various organizations included being a member at the William H. Miller Lodge 769 F&AM, former President of Pennsylvania Industrial Bankers Association, and he was active on several committees in Butler. Paul was also an Elder at Summit Presbyterian Church and involved in the Summit Food Bank for many years.
He was survived by his wife, Dorothy Steighner, of Saxonburg; one son, Daniel (Tammy) Steighner, of Butler; one daughter, Kimberly Steighner, of Saxonburg; one daughter-in-law, Luanne Steighner, of Saxonburg; five grandchildren and their spouses; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one son, Robert Steighner; four brothers; and two sisters.
STEIGHNER — Visitation for Paul L. Steighner, who died June 22, 2023, will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Road, Butler, with Pastor Tom R. Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Summit Food Bank, 181 Caldwell Road, Butler, PA 16002.
