Phyllis Bowser
Phyllis M. Bowser, 89, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at her residence.
Phyllis was born July 22, 1933, to the late Samuel Barnes and the late Gertrude Smith Barnes.
Phyllis worked at U.S. Steel, retiring in 1988 after many years of dedicated service. In her free time, Phyllis loved bowling and cherished her vacations at Myrtle Beach, S.C., with her family. Phyllis’s memory will live on through her loving family and the countless lives she touched.
Phyllis is survived by her children, William (Kit) Bowser of Reno, Nev., Linda (Leonard) Strella of Pulaski, Pa., Gary (Jodi) Bowser of Brackenridge, Pa., and Larry (Vanessa) Bowser of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Bowser, whom she married on Dec. 17, 1954, and who passed away Oct. 28, 2003; an infant grandson, Allen Strella; two sisters, Dorothy Tebay and Janice Halstead; and one brother, Maynard Barnes.

BOWSER — Family and friends of Phyllis M. Bowser, who died Saturday, June 17, 2023, are invited to a public visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 East North St., Butler.
A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
