5:03 p.m. Sept. 8 — Eric Berger, 28, of Sarver was charged with driving under the influence-high rate of alcohol, driving under the influence-incapable of safe driving and disorderly conduct following a traffic stop on Virginia Avenue. Police found an open bottle of whiskey on the floor of Berger's pickup truck.
Friday — Robert Schwanbeck, 21, of Clark, was arrested at a Kiester Road residence in Slippery Rock Township on an outstanding warrant from Ohio. He was jailed in Butler County Prison to await extradition to Ohio.Sept. 9 — Someone stole an $89 garbage can from the residence of Lorita Michel on Marburger Road in Forward Township between 8 p.m. Sept. 8 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 9. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-284-8100.10 a.m. Sept. 8 — A vehicle driven by Barbara Shearer, 55, of Butler and a car driven by Jessica Regalski, 24, of Butler collided on Route 8 in Center Township. The impact caused Shearer's vehicle to collide with a car driven by Lisa Marhefka, 30, of Butler. Marhefka's car then collided with a car driven by Christine Love, 60, of Butler. Shearer, Regalski and Marhefka received minor injuries. Love was not injured. All four drivers were wearing seat belts.
2:35 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Nelson Litteck Jr., 37, of Kittanning struck a parked vehicle owned by Thomas and Deborah Prager of Kittanning on Pony Farm Road in North Buffalo Township. Litteck was not injured. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Thursday — Police assisted in the search of two brothers, Jonathan Hart, 23, of Slippery Rock and a 12-year-old boy, who were lost in McConnells Mill State Park after dark. The brothers were located.12:45 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Justin Moore, 23, of New Castle and an SUV driven by a 17-year-old Wampum girl collided on Route 65 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The impact caused the SUV to collide with a car driven by Melody Metrocavige, 45, of Ellwood City. Moore, the 17-year-old and her passenger, Eryn Ottoviani, 18, of Ellwood City, were all treated for minor injuries at Ellwood City Hospital. Metrocavige was not injured. All four were wearing seat belts. Moore allegedly crossed the center line of the road, leading to the accident. He was charged with driving under the influence.
