Skrak 60th anniversary
Robert and Lucille Skrak of Prospect celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family dinner July 13 at the Atrium in Prospect.
Skrak married the former Lucille Sechan on July 10, 1948, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Rankin.
They have five children, Kathy D'Adamo of Barrington, Ill.; Christine Skrak of Seattle, Wash.; Rose McLaughlin of Prospect; Robert "Jim" Skrak of Prospect and Susan Taimuty of Prospect.
They also have 11 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.Skrak is a retired truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific. He was in the 6th Marine Division with 22nd Marines, with landings in Guam and Okinawa, Japan. Skrak is a member of the V.F.W. Post 249 in Butler and is a life member of the American Legion Post 417 in Prospect.Mrs. Skrak has been a realtor for Northwood Realty for 31 years. She is on the Butler Board of Realtors and volunteers with Northwood's snack bar for charity.The Skraks are members of St. Christopher at the Lake in Prospect.
