6:11 p.m. Tuesday — Stacy McConahy, 20, of Butler was charged with theft for allegedly taking an iPod, valued at $300, at the Island Playground.The iPod's owner, a 15-year-old said, said he left the property alone to hit golf balls. McConahy told police he found the device and believed it had been abandoned.3:35 a.m. Sunday — Molly Watson, 23, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 South. She was also cited for a lane violation and not stop at a flashing signal.Additionally, she is charged with furnishing alcohol to minors. Two passengers, Jeremy Watson, 19, of Renfrew, and a 15-year-old Sarver boy, riding in her car were cited for underage drinking.2:10 a.m. Sunday — Theresa Ivancik, 23, of Center Township was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 8 South. She also was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road and a turning violation.
11:10 p.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Curtis Murtland, 44, of Chicora struck a utility pole along Clearfield Road in Clearfield Township. Murtland said the crash occurred when he swerved to avoid a deer.Dennis Scherer, 24, of Chicora, a passenger in the SUV, was taken with moderate injuries to Butler Memorial Hospital before being transferred to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.Murtland suffered minor injuries. Police said both occupant were wearing seat belts.Tuesday — A would-be thief between 10 a.m. and noon removed pad locks from four metal coin deposit boxes at the Lock-A-Spot Car Wash on Route 356 in Jefferson Township; however, none of the coin boxes were entered.
Friday — Police recovered a set of keys at Hunter Farm Park on Greenwood Drive. There are six charms and two keys on the chain. Anyone looking to claim the keys is asked to call the department.Thursday — Citizens Bank on Center Street was cited for control of alarm devices, the seventh false alarm activation in a 12-month period.Sept. 25 — Vehicles driven by Michael Peters, 17, of Mercer and Brandon Harrah, 23, of Utica collided on West Main Street in front of Leisure Time Laundry. Peters and his 15-year- old passenger were taken to Grove City Medical Center.
