James J. Edwards, 56, of Saxonburg, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born Nov. 21, 1966, in Butler, he was the son of Donald Edwards and Theresa Wixon Edwards.

James was a 1985 graduate of Knoch High School. He worked as a sales representative for Traco and Beacon Roofing Supply. Jim was a Knoch boys and girls basketball coach for over 32 years, where he was a mentor to countless kids in the community. He enjoyed hunting with his son, Tyler, and watching his daughter, Kayla, graduate college. He loved camping and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his loving wife, Nicole Housekeeper Edwards, whom he married May 6, 1995; his children, Kayla Edwards of Pittsburgh and Tyler Edwards of Saxonburg; his parents-in-law, Danny and Janet Housekeeper of Butler; sister-in-law, Dana, and her husband, Jeff Mullen, and their children, Chase and Codi of Saxonburg; his mother, Theresa Edwards of Cabot; his siblings, David and his wife, Donna, and their children, David (Jen) Edwards Jr. and their kids, David III and Rorey Edwards of Worthington, Mark and his son, Mark Edwards Jr., and his wife, Angie, and their children, Declyn and Rylin Edwards of Cabot, and Bruce and his wife, Karen Edwards, of Ellwood City; his lifelong friend and “brother,” Daniel, and his wife, Karen Robb, and their children, Dominic (Megan) and their son, Jalen, Samantha (Chandler) Robb, and Reagan Robb of Cranberry Township; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Edwards; his long time stepfather, Albert Geibel; and a nephew, Donny Edwards.

EDWARDS — Friends of James J. Edwards, who died Monday, June 12, 2023, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main, St., Saxonburg.

Services will follow at 7:30 p.m., with Pastor Dave Roddy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Knoch Basketball Boosters, 246 Winfield Road, Sarver, PA 16055.
