Robert L. Donaldson, 63, of Renfrew, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 18, 1960, in Butler, the son of Kenneth L. and Barbara (Cricks) Donaldson of Renfrew.

Bob was a sergeant in the U.S. Army having served during Desert Storm, where he received the West Asia Medal, three Bronze Stars and a Kuwait Liberation Medal. He enjoyed collecting classic cars, rifles and restoring military memorabilia. He retired after 22 years of employment as a shipping leader at AK Steel.

Surviving are his parents; his daughter, Arlene (Randy Maynard) Donaldson of Renfrew; five grandchildren, Marissa, Kyle, Seth, Rylan and Alexis; two sisters, Carol (Stanley) Stanley of Renfrew and Susan (Brad) McCarthy of Butler; a brother, Kenneth L. Donaldson Jr. of Renfrew; a nephew, Michael (Elizabeth) Olson of Fenelton; and a great-nephew, Christian Connor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Manuela M. (Meidel) Donaldson, and his daughter, Lorraine S. Donaldson.

DONALDSON — Friends of Robert L. Donaldson, who died Saturday, June 10, 2023, will be received at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.Wednesday.

Graveside service and military honors will be held at Brownsdale Cemetery, 333 Brownsdale Road, Butler, at 11 a.m. Thursday.
