WEST MIDDLESEX — The Shenango Valley Labor Day Classic, a Class B-C 10-man modified softball tournament, will be held at the Council of Government Complex at Exit 4 of Interstate 80 Sept. 1 and 2.

The deadline for entry, which costs $250, is Aug. 24. First-place prize is $750, based on 20 teams entering the double-elimination format tournament.

MUDDY CREEK TWP — The Kyle McFeely Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser Bass Tournament will be held Aug. 26 at the Lake Arthur McDaniels Launch Facility.The entry fee is $150 per team, including entry into the lunker pool, and the first 50 received applications with payment in full will receive a $50 tackle package.The money raised will be donated to the scholarship fund at Slippery Rock University that was formed in memory of McFeely, a senior at the university who was killed in an car accident Oct. 14, 2005.A maximum of 150 applications will be accepted and they will be taken the morning of the event up to 30 minutes before the first flight at 6:30 a.m.If 100 boats participate, there will be a total payout $10,000 to the first 10 places.Make checks payable to Lake Latonka Bassmasters and send them to 220 N.
