Mohney

Tammela “Tammy” B. Mohney, 60, of Zelienople, formerly of Kittanning and Worthington, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Lutheran SeniorLife Passavant Community of Zelienople.

She was born Nov. 17, 1962, in Kittanning, and was the daughter to Merle “Bud” A. and Betty E. (Jordan) Mohney.

Tammy lived in Kittanning during her younger years and later moved to Worthington, where she was a devoted member of the Franklin Union Baptist Church. After 33 years in Worthington, she moved to Zelienople with her mother and brother.

Tammy loved attending church, Bible studies and reading her Bible. She participated in the Young Adults at Passavant and the Passavant Singers. Spiritual music was her favorite, but she enjoyed listening to country music as well. She attended the Passavant Community Congregation where she was very active in the community and never missed making handmade cards for all her friends each month.

Shopping was among her favorite activities, as was playing games and making crafts. Tammy loved to garden and would spend much time tending to her beautiful gardens. Animals held a special place in Tammy’s heart and she had many pets over the years. Her family and friends will always remember her sweet, tender spirit, and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by numerous cousins.

Tammy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Merle A. “Bucky” Mohney.

Tammy’s family would like to thank the Passavant Community in Zelienople, and especially to Pat, Susan and Anna who have graciously provided personal care to Tammy for several years.
