Violet Rose Roxbury Gilliland, 90, of Prospect passed away Sunday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Butler County and was the daughter of Harry and Mary Pearl Faulkner Goughler.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect.

She retired from the Prospect Post Office after 25 years.

She enjoyed going out to dinner and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Enslen of Evans City and Linda (Richard) Henry of Prospect; one son, James (Patty) Roxbury of Prospect; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five stepchildren; and 18 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Burton D. Roxbury, who passed away in 1987; her second husband Roy M. Gilliland, who passed away in 1993; her parents; and two brothers.

<B>GILLILAND</B> — Visitation for Violet Rose Roxbury Gilliland, who died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Rob Allison, her pastor from the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, officiating.
