Kimberly S. Christie, 58, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, under the care of Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 5, 1964, in Butler, she was the daughter of Donald R. Christie and the late Esther M. Hoey Cochran.

Kim was a 1982 graduate of Butler High School and a 1987 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where she received her bachelor’s degree. She worked at the Social Security Administration, retiring in May of 2016. Kim belonged to the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association and was a member of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church until its closure. She enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pitt basketball and football. More than anything, she got great joy from collecting Wonder Woman memorabilia.

She is survived by her father, Donald R. (Linda I.) Christie of Butler; her stepfather, David (Judy) Cochran of Butler; two sisters, Cheryl Gilliland of Butler, and Michele (Ed) Bowman of Butler; her two nieces, Kaitlyn Pesci and Adyson Bowman; two nephews, Tyler Pesci and Matthew (Michelle) Gilliland; two stepsisters, Belinda and Christin Wilker; and one stepbrother, Eric Cochran.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kevin R. Christie, and stepmother, Linda A. Christie.

CHRISTIE — Family and friends of Kimberly S. Christie, who passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A funeral service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Beverly Banyay officiating.

Kim’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to all of the staff at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for all of their care and kindness over the years.
