NEW CASTLE — Authorities said a small plane crashed and flipped over at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday at New Castle Municipal Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration said the Piper PA-23 veered off the runway, struck a ditch and flipped onto the grass. It’s unclear if the pilot was injured. The FAA is investigating the crash.

[naviga:h3]Bald eagle cam starts streaming[/naviga:h3]

HANOVER — An eagle cam overlooking a bald eagle nest in Pennsylvania has begun live-streaming through the state Game Commission’s website.

The commission installed two high-definition cameras over the nest of two bald eagles near Codorus State Park in Hanover, York County. The commission said infrared technology will provide images 24 hours a day. Microphones within the units will capture the sounds.

A Facebook group donated money to keep the camera rolling after the budget crisis threatened its installation. This is the second time cameras have been installed at a nest 75 feet high in a tree near the state park. About 1.5 million people tuned in last year to watch the birds hatch and raise two eaglets.
