Schiever 60th anniversary
Sidney and Joan Schiever of Harmony celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family dinner at Cranberry Heights Golf Club.
Schiever married the former Joan Mickley on Aug. 29, 1957, at St. Peter's Reformed Church of Zelienople.
They have four children, Kathy Hartzell of Slippery Rock, Elaine Savage of State College, Michael Schiever of Harmony and Carolyn Cafaro of Gibsonia.
They also have 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Schiever is a lifetime dairy farmer.
He is a Pennsylvania Farm Bureau legislative representative.
Mrs. Schiever is a retired registered nurse. For 26 years she was a nurse in the emergency room department at Ellwood City Hospital.
She is a Harmony Historic Society quilter.
The Schievers are Sunday school teachers at St. Peter's Reformed Church. They also volunteer in agriculture, church and community organizations.
