Andrew "Coke" Prokopchak, 79, of Butler died Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 8, 1929, at "Red Row" in Butler, he was the son of Paul and Mary Mehalso Prokopchak.

He lived in Duluth, Minn., for years and worked as a longshoreman. After his retirement, he returned to Butler and worked in course maintenance at the Butler Country Club and at the Krendale Golf Course. He also worked for a time at the former Horn of Plenty restaurant.

Mr. Prokopchak was an Army veteran. He served in the 110th Infantry Regiment during the Korean War.

He enjoyed being outdoors and was a golfer.

Surviving are one brother, William W. Prokopchak of Lyndora; one sister, Mrs. Helen Kresen and her husband, Dallas Kresen, of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Three brothers, John "Jake, Mike "Porky" and Paul "Pups" Prokopchak; and three sisters, Mary Betty, Julia Cuny and Ann Tarcha, preceded him in death.
