Outdoor Discovery ProgramV "Let There Be Slime" will feature naturalist April Claus talking about the mysteries of frogs, toads, salamanders, turtles and snakes at 7 p.m. tonight at the Carousel Shelter at Alameda Park. Participants will learn to identify frogs by their calls and learn more about the Hellbender, Pennsylvania's largest salamander. The evening is hosted by the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department. The program on July 3 will be "Fascinating Fireflies." Admission is free. A new turbine has been installed in the mill, and corn grinding will be demonstrated from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays, from Memorial Day through Labor Day. <B>Western Pennsylvania Mushroom Club</B> will conduct the Dorothy Fornof Memorial Walk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Deer Lakes Park, Russellton, Allegheny County. Walks generally start on time so plan to arrive a bit early. Take water and food, since the walks often last several hours. Take a basket or something to carry the mushrooms in, and wax or paper bags to store them. Other useful items include a whistle, compass, chair, hand lens and books for identification.
