DISPLAYING THE COLORS
C.W. Nicholas, left, and Chairman Andrew Yaracs Jr., members of a Butler Kiwanis Club committee to provide flags and flagholders for Main Street, affix a holder to a parking meter stanchion near the English Lutheran Church on North Main Street on July 3, 1967. The Kiwanis project resulted in 84 American flags displayed along the main thoroughfare from the viaduct to Walnut Street on the Fourth of July.
